Who We Are
Refugees in Libya is a survivor refugee-led organisation that grew out of the refugee-led protest movement in Tripoli in 2021, when thousands of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants came together to demand protection, evacuation and dignity.
What began as collective resistance has developed into an organisation working through community protection, the Refugees Urgent Support Hotline, documentation, advocacy and strategic litigation.
We work alongside people affected by detention, violence and displacement, while challenging the policies and practices that deny protection, trap people in danger and obstruct their search for safety. Our aim is not only to respond to abuse, but to transform lived experience into evidence, solidarity and accountability.
